Learning to Control a Brain-Machine Interface for Reaching and Grasping by Primates (2003)

At the Duke University Medical Center, researchers taught a Rhesus monkey to consciously control the movement of a robot arm in real-time, using only direct signals from its brain and visual feedback on a video screen.
